The final version of The
Scout.com National Hot 100 is led by a new No. 1, quarterback Mark Sanchez from Mission Viejo (Calif.) High School. Sanchez is committed to Southern Cal and he held off quarterback Ryan Perrilloux and others for the top spot.
There were many shakeups at different positions as well. Antone Smith is now the No. 1 rated running back, Patrick Turner is the top rated wide receiver, Tony Moeaki is the top tight end, DeMarcus Granger is the top rated defensive tackle, Travis Beckum is the No. 1 defensive end and Demetrice Morley is the top rated defensive back in the nation.
Sanchez is the third prospect atop The
Scout.com National Hot 100 this season. Derrick Williams (Penn State) was our pre-season No. 1 prospect and then it was Fred Rouse (Tallahassee, Fla.). Here is a quick look at the top 10:
2) QB Ryan Perrilloux (Texas soft commitment)
3) OT Eugene Monroe (Virginia)
4) WR Patrick Turner (Southern Cal)
5) DB Demetrice Morely (Tennessee)
6) WR Fred Rouse
7) LB Tray Blackmon (Auburn)
8) WR Derrick Williams (Penn State)
9) DT DeMarcus Granger
10) S Kenneth Phillips
Those were not the only changes. As you know the top 50 prospects in the country receive five-stars. Some players moved into five-star range and some slid down. Others moved into the national 100 like wide receivers Trey Stross and Mohamed Massaquoi, safeties Will Harris and Shawn Oatis, cornerbacks Carlos Thomas and Derek Pegues and defensive lineman Earl Heyman.

Scout.com National Hot 100 is compiled by myself and Allen Wallace.
