Focus '06 - Matt Jansen (QB)

Merrillville running back James Aldridge could be the #1 prospect in the state of Indiana but Aldridge and the Pirates will be tested early in 2005 by this up and coming prospect in the Hoosier State. Keep an eye on Crown Point quarterback Matt Jansen. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound, Jansen, already has a MAC offer and several other schools have been in contact.

“Purdue, Ball State, Eastern Michigan and Northern Illinois have all been sending me hand-written mail on a regular basis.” Matt Jansen said.

“My favorites are Ball State, Purdue, Illinois, Indiana, Eastern Michigan and Northern Illinois.

“I’m going to hit some camps this summer but I’m not sure which ones yet. I’m also a baseball player and I’ll probably be playing some summer baseball.”

Jansen got the starting call for Crown Point this past season and Matt was named junior all-state. What are Jansen’s strengths as a quarterback?

“I think my accuracy is what most people would say,” Jansen explained. “I feel that I have a strong arm and I have a good head on my shoulders. I make good decisions.”

Jansen carries a 3.4 GPA in the classroom.
