Wilkins Talks Offers and Favorites

WR Marques Wilkins

Illinois wide receiver Marques Wilkins has seen his stock soar after two very good combine showings this spring. Wilkins only had an offer from Illinois when he attended the Scout.com combine in Champaign and now several schools have stepped up with offers. Marques has his sights set on one certain Big Ten school.

"I want to go after Michigan," Marques Wilkins said. "I'm camping at Michigan this summer and hopefully they offer me a scholarship.

"Right now my offers are Illinois, Michigan State, Purdue, Wisconsin, Ball State, Duke and Illinois State. Purdue is the only school that has called me so far in May."

Wilkins, a 6-foot-1, 180-pounder, from Decatur (Ill.) MacArthur, is considered one of the top wide receiver prospects in the Midwest.

As a junior, Marques had 600 rushing yards and 600 receiving yards. He scored touchdowns in just about every way imaginable, rushing, receiving, interceptions and on special teams.

Who does Wilkins favor at this point in his recruitment? Does he have a leader?

"I like Illinois, Notre Dame, Purdue, Michigan State, Michigan and Wisconsin. If I had to pick a school tomorrow, I'd pick between Illinois, Purdue and Michigan."

Besides Michigan, Wilkins also plans on camping at Notre Dame and Iowa this summer and a few more camps are still in the works.
