Travis McBride is one of many talented backs from the state of Pennsylvania this season. McBride, 6-1 and 195 pounds, is from McKeesport (Pa.) High School and last season as a junior he rushed for over 1,200 yards and 19 touchdowns. “I think I am a pretty complete back,” said McBride. “I am a very good runner with good vision. I can block well and catch the ball out of the backfield.” According to McBride he now has scholarship offers from Iowa, Miami (Ohio), West Virginia, Rutgers and N.C. State. “I am pretty open,” said McBride. “I like Auburn, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and a few others. “Auburn has a running game that I absolutely love. “Iowa is a program that is so consistent and getting better and better each year. “Michigan is a team that I have just always liked… since I was a kid. ”Ohio State is a team known for putting running back in the NFL. “Penn State and Pittsburgh are the home teams for me. I have always liked them both and we’ll see what happens if they end up offering me a scholarship. ”Tennessee, like Auburn, is a team that has a great running game.” McBride says at this point he will not camp anywhere this summer, rather continue to train for his senior season and perhaps make some unofficial visits to come college campuses. ”I am not sure where and who I want to see this summer. As far as working out I just want to get bigger, faster and stronger and get better at everything and I plan on working hard.” |
