The top quarterback in Washington next year is expected to be Johnny DuRocher, 6-4, 210 pounds from Spanaway-Bethel. At 6-4, 205 pounds, the talented signal caller has the size and arm strength colleges are looking for.

DuRocher had a very good junior season throwing for 2,300 yards and 25 touchdowns with six interceptions. He led Bethel to a 12-1 record this past year and a berth in the 4A semi-finals for the second straight year where they came up short against Kentwood and Washington State bound quarterback Carl Bonnell.

DuRocher is also a talented hoopster and averaged 15 points and six rebounds this past season but football is definitely his meal ticket. He’s hearing from all of the Pac 10 plus North Carolina, Nebraska, Colorado and Notre Dame.

“Washington is my top school right now followed by Oregon, Stanford, UCLA and Notre Dame,” DuRocher said. “I’m planning on camping with Oregon and Washington over the summer and I’m also going to the Nike Camp in Palo Alto.”

Academically, DuRocher is carrying a 3.4 GPA and will major in Sports Management in college.
