Martin, 6-1, 215 pounds is a two time All-League selection and led Centennial in tackles this past season with 115 including three quarterback sacks. He runs very well to the football and is a big time hitter. He’s been clocked in the low 4.6 range in the 40 and benches over 300 pounds.
“He’ll be our top recruit next year,” Centennial head coach Matt Logan said. “He’s at the same level as Terry Richardson was this past year in terms of being a high major recruit. He’ll have everyone after him and is one of the best linebackers I’ve coached.”
USC has always been Martin’s favorite school and that remains the case but watch out for the Sun Devils.
“I like USC and I’ll be going to their Junior Day this weekend,” Martin said. “I grew up watching them but now that Terry is at ASU, they’re right behind them. Washington, Oregon and Hawaii are the others in my top five. The three main factors I’m looking at are education, location and the quality of the football program.”
Martin is planning to camp with both USC and ASU over the summer and will also attend the Nike Camp in Los Angeles in April. Academically he’s carrying a 3.0 GPA and will take the SAT later this month.
