The “Buckeye State” is loaded with talent this year at numerous positions. One of the most talented players is Delone Carter the running Back from Copley. Carter has quietly amassed double digit offers.

Scout.com had an opportunity to check in with Delone Carter (5’10”, 197, 4.5) the star running back from Copley (Ohio.) who amassed 2,556 yards and 28 touchdowns in 2004. Carter has piled up offers very quietly, and now he gives us an insight into what he is looking for during the recruiting process.

“I have offers from Kentucky, Wisconsin, Syracuse, Akron, Bowling Green, Kent State, Miami (OH), Buffalo, and three or four others that I do not remember,” Carter said.

Even though Carter has not camped anywhere he has unofficially visited Syracuse, and looks forward to checking out Wisconsin and Kentucky if he can. “We went to Syracuse already and I will try to get to Wisconsin and Kentucky but it’s not as important.”

“My favorites are Syracuse, Kentucky, and Wisconsin.” We asked Carter to give us his thoughts on his favorites.

Syracuse: “The school was very nice; we really loved their history and tradition, especially with running backs. I really liked all of the coaches, especially Coach Russ who is recruiting me. Coach [Desmond] Robinson told me that if I come to Syracuse, I will not only be a success on the field but I will be off as well, and that going to Syracuse will provide me the contacts needed to be successful in life.”

Wisconsin – “They have a great tradition in the Big Ten, and have always won under Coach Alvarez.”

Kentucky - “It’s a nice school, they play in the SEC and that’s interesting.”

So when will one of Ohio’s best Running backs make his decision? “I plan to make a decision when my family and I are comfortable with a school.”

Carter’s Coach Dan Boarman had a few things to say about his star running back. “He is one of the best running backs in Ohio, we had a chance to play against Chris Wells and none of us could see a difference.” “Delone is multi-faceted, he can inside, outside, over, and he is just a physical runner who won’t back down.” “What’s most scary is that he has only played running back for one year, he was at Hoban behind Tyrell Sutton.”

“This is a special player, one of the best I have ever coached,” Boarman said.
