Hamilton, 6-1, 225 pounds is a powerful runner with good speed and vision. His highlite tape was very impressive and he’ll be a Hot 100 candidate next year. His powerful running style and short, quick strides are similar to former Tennessee running back Jamal Lewis.
This past season, Hamilton rushed 83 times for 1,172 yards (14.1 yards ave.) and 18 touchdowns to earn 1st team All-League and All-Area honors. Nebraska, USC and Arizona State have all offered scholarships and he’s also hearing from Washington, UCLA, Wisconsin and San Diego State.
“Nebraska called us and requested tape and then they called back and offered the second they got done watching him,” Edison head coach Booker Guyton said. “That’s his dream school too so they’ll be tough to beat.”
Hamilton list his other favorites as Ohio State, Washington, Cal and UCLA. Academically, he’s carrying a 3.3 GPA and will take the SAT in June. He’ll attend the Nike Camp in Palo Alto May 18.
