Indiana Quarterback Names Favorites

Crown Point (Ind.) quarterback Matt Jansen received several visitors during the May Evaluation Period, The 6-foot-2, 190-pound, gunslinger has finished up his summer camps and he gives Scout.com the heads up on which schools have offered him a scholarship and which schools lead for his services.

“As of today, I have scholarship offers from Ball State, Northern Illinois and Western Michigan.” Matt Jansen said.

“I camped at Ball State, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan, Bowling Green, Michigan State, Purdue and Indiana.

“I really couldn’t say that I have a leader right now but my favorites are Ball State, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan, Indiana and Michigan State.

“I’m done with camps. I’ve just been relaxing and working out with my teammates. We’ve been doing a lot of 7-on7 stuff as a team.”

As a junior, Jansen threw for 1,976 yards and 15 touchdowns. Matt competed 55% of his passes and was named junior all-state by the Bloomington Herald-Times.

Jansen told Scout.com that accuracy and arm-strength are his best attributes.

Those attributes that will be put to test the third week into the season when Jansen and his teammates take on Merrillville High School and Notre Dame bound running back James Aldridge.

Extra Point - Stanford was high on Jansen during the May Evaluation Period. The Cardinal wanted him to come to camp but Matt didn’t make it out to Palo Alto. Jansen is underrated. He has Big Ten potential but very well could end up playing in the MAC.
