Iowa Linebacker Makes His Move

LB Dorian Davis

We've seen several prospects emerge in July and early August. One of those prospects is Dorian Davis, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound, linebacker, from Iowa City (Iowa) City High. Davis didn't receive the recognition as other prospects during the May Evaluation period but college recruiters love Dorian's potential.

"I'm looking at Tennessee, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Kansas, Illinois and Northern Iowa." Dorian Davis said.

"I camped at Iowa and I'm getting a lot of letters and stuff like that.

"Most of the schools are recruiting me as an outside linebacker or will (weak side) linebacker. I don't have any offers yet.

"Iowa and Tennessee are my leaders. I have a bond with the Iowa coaches and Tennessee is one of those programs in the national spotlight."

Davis is one of the top prospects in the state of Iowa and college recruiters all over the country love the paint job on Davis but they want to see what's under the hood during his senior year.

Davis needs to continue to buckle down on his academics during his senior year and once he becomes a full qualifier, Dorian should start to see some scholarship offers come his way.

Davis is definitely a talented young man with a super upside. Watch Dorian on tape and you'll see a young man who can run and who loves to hit.

The only knock on Davis is that sometimes after making a spectacular play, he'll disappear. He needs to show he can be an every down linebacker.

As a junior, Davis had 115 tackles, six tackles for loss and five sacks. He was named all-area and honorable mention all-state. Dorian also letters in basketball and track.
