Brendan Mitchell, the No. 46 prospect, in the Midwest, has ended his recruitment by giving Northwestern his verbal commitment. The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder, from Hudson (Ohio) Western Reserve Academy, emerged during the summer as one of the top prospects in Ohio and the Midwestern region.
Mitchell is a fine athlete that could play tight end, fullback or defensive end for the Wildcats. Brendan is a tri-athlete that also letters in basketball and track. Mitchell’s father, Alan Mitchell, played wide receiver for Michigan.
Mitchell was unable to talk about his commitment this morning but when Scout.com talked to Brendan last week, he was very enthused about the coaches at NU as well as the top-notch academic environment. We’ll have comments from Brendan in the very near future.
