Fighting Illini in the Mix

Adrian Cannon, the No. 52 prospect, in the Midwest, according to Scout.com, had a very busy summer. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound, wide receiver, from Pontiac (Mich.) Avondale, is receiving several phone calls from college coaches and he's begun to narrow down his school choices.

"I have scholarship offers from North Carolina, Illinois, Iowa State, Kentucky, Maryland, Bowling Green, Toledo and Ball State." Adrian Cannon said.

"My favorites right now are Michigan, Illinois, Florida State, Miami (Fla.) and Iowa State.

"I don't have a favorite right now and I haven't set up any official visits yet. Right now I'm looking at taking my official visits at the end of the season.

"Last night I got calls from Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Iowa State, Central, Eastern and Western Michigan."

Cannon is a four-year varsity starter for Avondale. He had 620 yards and scored 12 touchdowns as a junior. So far in 2005, Cannon had 30 solo tackles and an interception on defense and also has 22 receptions and 6 touchdowns on offense.

Cannon told Scout.com that he doesn't plan on graduating early. Instead, he'll graduate with his class in May and enroll at the school of his choice in the summer of '06.

Cannon camped at Florida, Florida State, Michigan and Michigan State this past summer.
