CTSD Welcomes Georgia Commitment, Cornerback Asher Allen, as In- Studio Guest; Finds "All in the Family" Scenario for Pair of Florida and Georgia Prep Stars, and much more tonight on Fox Sports South.

COUNTDOWN TO SIGNING DAY, FSN South's live, weekly football recruiting update, continues on Wednesday, 10/12 at 6:30 p.m. (re-airs Friday, 10/14 at 7 p.m.). Alongside analysts Jamie Newberg and Scott Kennedy of Scout.com, Cory Kessler hosts the one-hour show - the network's longest running series. CTSD's second half-hour on Wednesday does not air in the states of North Carolina and South Carolina.

Wednesday, 10/12 at 6:30 p.m. ET; re-airs Friday, 10/14 at 7 p.m.

Joining the COUNTDOWN crew as an in-studio guest on Wednesday is cornerback Asher Allen (5-10, 185) of Tucker (Ga.) High School. A member of the 2006 South Hot 100, Allen, has committed to Georgia and is a key reason the Bulldogs' verbal commitments place them second nationally in '05 recruiting, according to Scout.com. Last season, Allen had 80 tackles and two interceptions, and he returned two punts for touchdowns. As a running back, he rushed for more than 800 yards and scored nine times.

Wednesday's show also looks at a pair of players looking to live up to their siblings' standards. Marcus Sims (6-0, 220) - brother of Florida State linebacker Ernie Sims - has narrowed his list of schools to Florida State, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Miami and Tennessee. As a running back at North Florida Christian in Tallahassee, Marcus last season rushed for 1,154 yards (8.2 yds./carry) and 17 TDs, and as a linebacker, he posted 84 tackles.

Another player who's trying to follow his brother's footsteps is one of the nation's top prep linebackers - Marcus Ball (6-0, 205), younger brother of Georgia Tech quarterback Reggie Ball and Central Michigan cornerback Raeshon Ball. Marcus, from Stephenson HS in Stone Mountain, Ga., had 122 tackles (14 for loss, including seven sacks) last season, and he is looking at Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and LSU.

Also, COUNTDOWN checks in on defensive lineman Deantwan Whitehead (6-6, 245) of West End HS in Birmingham, Ala., who's checking out Georgia, Clemson, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisville, and Auburn. A versatile defensive end/tight end, he runs a 4.7 in the 40.

Another player spotlighted Wednesday is defensive lineman Jacques McClendon of the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tenn., who last year had 60 tackles (five sacks) and was second-team AP all-state and first team all-city. The 6-3, 275-pounder has committed to Tennessee.

CTSD originates from FSN South's Atlanta studio and airs throughout AL, GA, KY, MS, NC, SC and TN, on the nation's largest regional sports television network. Also, exclusively throughout the state of Florida, CTSD airs live on Sun Sports, and in AR and LA, the show airs on FSN Southwest.
