Easily the hardest position so far to put in any kind of order has been the linebackers in the south. More than fifty prospects will sign division one scholarships at the linebacker position in the deep south this year, and while the depth is outstanding, there isn't a lot of separation between the players.

At the top of the heap is Marcus Ball of Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain, Ga. Ball has been a starter on one of the best defenses in the south for three years. The talent at the linebacker position is so loaded at Stephenson, that the Jaguars could actually afford to move their fastest linebacker to safety this year.

Speaking of speed, A.J. Jones is the fastest of all of the linebackers on the board. He was a standout at the Scout.com Combine in Tampa, and has a load of offers to choose from.

Jacob Cutrera and Toryan Smith are two of the top middle linebackers on the board. Each has sideline to sideline lateral quickness, and both live for contact.

The player making the biggest move up the list is Douglass' Akeem Dent. At 6-3 and 210 pounds, Dent has had a huge senior season now that he is the leader on a team that lost eight D1 signees in the Class of 2005.

The linebacker board easily goes 35 deep with big time Division One players, and for just about every player from 11-35, one could make an argument for him being in the Top 10.

They can't all be in the top ten, and here is a look at the best linebacker prospects in the country.

Rather than list the players' height, weight, and speed, I have listed the school they are committed to if any. Click on their player page to see more information including scouting videos and schools of interest.
