All week Scout.com - South will be updating the rankings for the southern players. The states included are Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas. This is a look at the Top Defensive Ends in the South.

The defensive end position has been a strong one in the south the past several
years, and this year is no different. Deantwan Whitehead (Peanut) shook off an
injury in his junior year to be the #1 Ranked Defensive End in the South by
Scout.com
The state of Georgia is well represented at the top of the heap with Brandon
Wood, Demarcus Dobbs, and Jermaine Cunningham. Each player brings a little
something different to the table. Wood is compact and fast in the 6-1/250/4.6
range. Dobbs is bigger than Wood, but not quite as quick, and Cunningham is a
long, lean pass rusher that is lightning fast off the edge.
Here is a look at the South's Top Defensive Ends.
Rather than list the players' height, weight, and speed, I have listed the
school they are committed to if any. Click on their player page to see more
information including scouting videos and schools of interest.
