Southern Recruit Rankings - The Tight Ends

All week Scout.com - South will be updating the rankings for the southern players. The states included are Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas. This is a look at the Top Tight Ends in the South.

The Tight End position had been lean in the south until the Class of 2005 when several started popping up everywhere and Alabama in particular. Tommy Trott, Gabe McKenzie, Michael Johnson, and Charles Hoke were all big time prospects from Alabama.

This year, there isn't the depth that there was in the Class of 2005, but there are still some very good prospects to be had.

Colleges can't get enough of big, athletic players, and several of these guys could end up on the other side of the ball in college.

Here is a look at the top tight ends in the South.
