"Ohio State, Florida State and Nebraska -- those are my top schools right now," said A.J. Wallace, of McDonough High School in Pomfret, Md. "It's between these three schools for a leader, and the others that I haven't visited are under them in rankings until I visit and find out otherwise..."

Pomfret, Md., corner/running back A.J. Wallace (6-1, 195, 4.4) has taken three official visits this season, and names those three as his leaders.

"Ohio State, Florida State and Nebraska -- those are my top schools right now," said Wallace, of McDonough High School. "It's between these three schools for a leader, and the others that I haven't visited are under them in rankings until I visit and find out otherwise."

Other schools competing for his final two officials include Florida, Miami, Oklahoma and Penn State. All of his favorites have offered.

"It would be a tough decision between those three. They were all good visits," he added.

He visited Ohio State on Sept. 9, Florida State on Oct. 1 and Nebraska on Oct. 28. He plans on setting up his last two visits by late November to early December.

"At Ohio State, the best part was meeting the coaches and meeting the players. Also, experiencing the atmosphere during a game there.

"Florida State was pretty much the same thing -- meeting the coaches and players and the atmosphere there. It was a different atmosphere, though. Everyone kind of carries a swagger there. I liked the way they carried themselves -- confident.

"Nebraska was more quiet at the school. The fans were great there, though. They were really into the game. The coaches and players were great there, too," Wallace said.

Wallace took his official to Nebraska with childhood friend J.B. Walton (offensive lineman, Lackey High School, Indian Head, Md.). "We aren't totally looking to go to the same school, but if it happened it would be a plus. We joked around about it, but we probably won't end up at the same school," he said.

Both have a similar roster of favorites, including: Nebraska, Florida State, Penn State, Oklahoma and Florida. Wallace tagged along with Walton to a Penn State game in early October.

The two will meet each other on the football field this Friday, Nov. 11 as McDonough (6-3) hosts Lackey in their last regular season game of the season.

In nine games, Wallace has 164 carries for 1,578 yards and 20 touchdowns, and 12 catches for 210 yards and two touchdowns. He also has one punt return and one kick return each for touchdowns, and three interceptions.
