Lufkin, Texas wide receiver E.J. Shankle has had a hard time with the recruiting process so far. After being committed to Texas Tech he decided to re-open his recruitment and it paid off for another in-state school.
"I committed to Texas A&M on my visit this weekend," Shankle said. "I really had a great time on my visit and I knew when I was there that I was probably going to commit, but wanted to come home and talk to my family first."
The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Shankle is ranked as the nation's No. 44 wide receiver by Scout.com.
"When I got home I talked to my mom and then I called the coaches and told them and they were real happy. I will not be taking any other visits, I am a firm commitment."
Shankle could see playing time early in his career as an Aggie.
"They run a lot of the same things that my high school runs. I am going to be playing slot receiver and involved in the option some. I will do a lot of motion in the backfield, but they told me to come in ready to play next year."
