Quendel Ellison, a 5-foot-10, 200 pound, running back, from Auburn, N.Y. is one of the most lethal offensive weapons in the entire state.
“Quendel will be a starter for four years here. He is an incredibly good kid as a person, and in the classroom,” Auburn head coach Dave Moskov informed. “His biggest assets on the field are his strength and his vision. He sees the field, and uses that to his advantage. There is no question that he will be one of the top players in the state.”
Ellison, who rushed for 1248 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior, feels that he is a balanced runner.
“I try to mix in power with speed,” Ellison said. “If there was a player that I would try emulate on the field it would be Emmitt Smith. He never gives up. I just admire the way he runs, and the work ethic that he put into his game. I also think that Reggie Bush is a phenomenal player. He can do it all.”
Ellison has excellent grades, and it is easy to tell by the schools he is favoring at this point in the process.
“Recruiting has been going really good. I am interested in Boston College, Harvard, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Nebraska, Columbia, Princeton, and Connecticut. I have not yet been extended an offer, but they are all showing me interest by sending me letters, and things like that,” Ellison said.
Ellison is in no hurry to decide on a school, and he believes that it would be wise to wait until after his senior season before he narrows down his list.
“I am not really favoring any particular program at this time. I want to take my time and see what I do this season. I want be open to everybody at this point in the process,” Ellison explained.
Ellison has not been able to work any un-official visits into his schedule, but that has not kept a couple of programs from offering him the chance.
“I have not yet been able to get out on any visits, but Syracuse and Pitt both invited me to a couple of basketball games for junior days,” Ellison lamented.
Ellison will be participating in the Scout.com All-American Combine at Rutgers University on April 23.
