Yet Another Commitment For Illinois

"Edgy" Tim O'Halloran, publisher of the Illinois Prep Spotlight is reporting that Jay Ramshaw, a 6-foot-4, 235-pound, defensive lineman from Champaign, Illinois has become verbal commitment #5 for the University of Illinois.

Edgy is as good as they come as both a person and a talent evaluator. Once again Edgy scooped the competition telling us that Champaign linebacker, Jay Ramshaw will pledge Illinois today.

Way to go "Edgy"! I can't wait 'till our partnership begins.

Here's what Jay Ramshaw told "Edgy" earlier today.

EDGY has learned that Champaign Centennial junior DL Jay Ramshaw (6'4 245lbs) has received a scholarship offer from the University of Illinois and will make a verbal committment to the Illini later today.

"I received a scholarship offer from the Illini aftertheir lineman camp. I thought I had a pretty good camp. They played me at Defensive End in camp and I felt I got off the ball really well. Then the coaches took me aside and told me that they wanted to offer me a scholarship, and honestly EDGY I turned white as a sheet and almost fainted.

"I decided this morning to verbal to Illinois. It's pretty obvious that I know alot of the guys on the team, and living in Champaign you can't help but be a fan of the Illini.

"My Dad also played for Illinois, and when I told them that I was offered by Illinois and was going to verbal today my Mom was in tears."

"I really wanted Illinois all along. I appreciatethe other schools who were recruiting me (Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Purdue) but I'm committing to Illinois today!"
