Dawgs Lead for Indiana Running Back

Darren Evans, a 6-foot, 202-pound, running back, from Warren Central High in Indianapolis, is one of the top prospects at his position, in the Midwest, according to Scout.com. Evans was the EA Sports Sophomore Player of the Year and he followed that up with a super junior season.

“The Mississippi State coaching staff told me that Darren was the best running back they’ve seen so far this year. I know Darren has family down in Mississippi and that’s also a plus for them.”
Evans rushed for 2,100 yards and 39 touchdowns as a junior. Darren missed one game to attend the funeral of his grandfather, which was the only loss for Warren Central in the ’05 season.
That loss was avenged during the play-off run for Warren Central and they went on to a win yet another state championship.

“I’ve been to Michigan and Ohio State for junior days and I’m going to West Virginia on April 14th. I’m going to visit

“Mississippi State probably leads right now because I know the coaches down there and feel comfortable with them, plus I have my family down there.”
Evans told us that he’ll be making his official visits during the season and that he’d like to commit early and graduate mid-term.
