Offensive Line 6-6, 330, 5.25 Springfield, VA - West Springfield
School Preferences: Committed to Virginia
Virginia has had quite a week on the line of scrimmage, picking up commitments from over 600 pounds of muscle on the offensive line. Gordie Sammis and Marshal Ausberry both committed this week. At 6-6 and 330 pounds, Ausberry will immediately add size to any line that he steps up to. He has the perfect frame to play tackle, but may start out as a massive guard.
"I committed to Virginia this week," said Ausberry. "It's a great school where I can get a great education. I like the pro-style system that they run, and I think it will help me one day get to the NFL. I was at camp this week, and I really enjoyed the campus. It's just a great place. I play tackle in high school, but I think they want to give me my first shot at guard."
West Springfield went 6-3 this season, and they return several of their big men in the trenches. "We have 4 OL starters coming back, so we should be pretty good. We run a multiple set offense. We run some QB option plays and some shotgun. What I like about offense is knowing what the play is going to be and being able to surprise the defense. There's no greater feeling than pancaking someone."
Ausberry is Virginia's 4th public commitment, and he is by far the largest man in the class thus far. That is not likely to change as big as he is. Virginia is off to a fast start this summer; picking up where they left off last season after signing what is arguably the best class in their history.
