Always considered a productive player (976 all-purpose yards and 89 tackles in 2001), Meyers' summer camp performance provided a good opportunity to showcase his overall athleticism.
His vertical leap was in the 33-34 inch range and was consistently timed at 4.5 in the forty, with his best time posted at Indiana's elite camp, running an electronic 4.72 forty on a slow surface. At the Illinois camp, he received the award for the Most Improved Defensive Back.
Last week Meyers made a quick trip to Iowa State, to view the campus and meet some of the coaches. Previously, he had an opportunity to visit the Indiana campus and will also make short trips to Kansas and Miami (Ohio) this month.
Meyers will play running back and outside linebacker for head coach Boyd Manne this season, but is projected at either free or strong safety on the next level.
The six-foot, 195-pound athlete has received offers from Iowa State, Indiana, Kansas and Miami (Ohio).
