The ACC has had a good couple of recent weeks with quarterback commitments from
Marcus Stone (NC
State), Roger Heinz (UNC) and
C.J. Gaddis
(Clemson). Add another blue-chipper to the list as Pennsylvania standout
signal caller Kevin McCabe verbally committed to Virginia tonight on Fox Sports Regional News moment ago.
"I committed to UVA a few days ago but didn't go public until tonight," said McCabe. "It starts at the top with Coach (Al) Groh. "He is
rebuilding at Virginia and rebuilding something special. They have a great staff and I love Coach Musgrave. They have been great with me and I want to be around those guys. It feels good to get the decision out because now I can
focus on this season and with my team. This is it and I am done. I gave Virginia my word."
McCabe, 6-4 and 200 pounds, is from Gibsonia (Pa.) Pine Richland High School. He committed to UVA over Michigan, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech and
LSU. Last season as a junior, McCabe was 80/130 (62%,) for 1,053
yards, 14 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions.
