Decision Coming For Barnes
Jason Barnes Profile Photo Gallery "I am not sure, because I like both of them, but Coach (Tommy) Knotts, he is trying to talk to my mom and get her on the same side that me and him are on," said Barnes, who added that he is not even sure if he has a "side" right now. "We are just talking about it, and see what it comes to. It should come soon, though, before the next game, because (Knotts) wants me to get it done before the season so I can focus on the season." According to Barnes, every time he feels ready to make a decision something changes his mind. "I wish I was leaning one way or the other," he said. "Last week, I could tell you it was North Carolina, but right now I am liking them both. Both of them are great schools, and no matter where I go I'm gonna win. "At North Carolina, I already know I am going to play and they have a new offensive coordinator coming in, but then I thought a little bit more. Every time I think, I lean the other way." After making his decision, Barnes will think about leading his Independence team to yet another state championship while stepping up to fill the void of former Shrine Bowl wide receiver Hakeem Nicks. "It feels good to be playing as the number one receiver now, and I am going to make the best of it in my senior year." Barnes finished his final preseason game against powerhouse Byrnes (S.C.) with six catches for 73 yards including several acrobatic grabs.
