Five-star prospects Da'John Harris and Brian Price head the list of defensive tackles, while Harris' teammate, Apaiata Tuihalamaka leads the run of defensive ends.

DEFENSIVE TACKLES:

Harris and Price are clearly the class of the defensive tackles in the state. Both are five-star prospects and are impact guys at the collegiate level. Tupou is the best defensive lineman in Northern California and Celotto has been a sackmaster from his spot. Wood has seen his stock shoot up after a strong spring and summer.

1. Da'John Harris, 6-4, 260, Gardena (Calif.) Serra
Would be an elite tight end if he wanted to stay on offense.

2. Brian Price, 6-3, 270, Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw
Committed to: UCLA
Has dominated from his tackle spot and is the top prospect in the City in this class.

3. Christian Tupou, 6-2, 260, Sacramento (Calif.) Grant
The top defensive player in Northern California.

4. Tonio Celotto, 6-3, 250, Piedmont (Calif.)
Committed to: Oregon
The son of former USC and Raiders linebacker Mario Celotto, Tonio headed to Eugene.

5. Nick Wood, 6-2.5, 275, Poway (Calif.)
Could be the strongest player in the state, went from unknown to national prospect.

6. Porter Hill, 6-4, 280, Compton (Calif.)
Also plays tight end but is best at plugging up the middle.

7. Charles Brallier, 6-2, 315, Elk Grove (Calif.)
Strong spring has helped his stock rise.

8. Hans Philipp, 6-1, 282, San Bernardino (Calif.) Arroyo
Committed to: Arizona
Will join older brother Paul on the defensive line in Tucson.

9. Tyrone Duncan, 6-2, 290, Westlake Village (Calif.) Westlake
With Jeff Miller gone, Duncan is the anchor of Warriors defensive line.

10. Fred Koloto, 6-3, 270, Palo Alto (Calif.)
Could end up as a guard in college.

The Next 5:

11. Marcus Austin, 6-1, 286, Etiwanda (Calif.)
12. Mackey Mailo, 6-2, 250, Carson (Calif.)
13. Zack Madonick, 6-2, 275, Danville (Calif.) San Ramon Valley
14. Brian Lambert, 6-1, 285, Tustin (Calif.)
15. Justin Landseadel, 6-1, 240, Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian

DEFENSIVE ENDS:

Tuihalamaka gives Serra the best tackle and end though he will probably end up at linebacker in college. Reardon is a huge, physical presence while Ayers has been one of the most productive ends in the state. Rowe might have the quickest step off the line of scrimmage. Lemmens and Ebbitt give Oaks the best bookend pass rushers in the West.

1. Apaiata Tuihalamaka, 6-3, 220, Gardena (Calif.) Serra
Foot injury has forced him to the sideline, but his upside is off the charts.

2. Michael Reardon, 6-6, 253, Orange (Calif.) Lutheran
Committed to: USC
Reardon could end up on the offensive line, but he’s a big force off the edge.

3. Akeem Ayers, 6-3, 220, Los Angeles (Calif.) Verbum Dei
Committed to: UCLA
Could make a push to end up as the state’s all-time sack leader.

4. Kenny Rowe, 6-3, 220, Long Beach (Calif.) Poly
Might end up as an outside linebacker in college.

5. Duke Lemmens, 6-5, 240, Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian
Has been a starter since his freshman year for the Lions.

6. Mike Ebbitt, 6-5, 250, Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian
Committed to: Texas A&M
Former hockey player has found his niche on the football field.

7. Dominic Glover, 6-4, 240, Mission Viejo (Calif.)
Another in a long line of outstanding Diablo defenders.

8. Michael Snead, 6-4, 240, Oakland (Calif.) Skyline
The younger brother of UCLA defensive end William Snead.

9. Eron Moses, 6-5, 220, Anaheim (Calif.) Esperanza
After only one year on the football field, Moses is pulling in offers .

Coming into his own as a pass-rusher for the Knights.

13. Lucas Barbosa, 6-2, 250, Chino (Calif.)
14. Glen Rauscher, 6-2, 215, Encinitas (Calif.) La Costa Canyon
15. Jordan Carr, 6-2, 223, Woodside (Calif.)
