Update 2003 - Thomas Flowers (RB)
Last season Thomas
Flowers rushed for 900 yards and 15 touchdowns. What is more impressive is
that he did this while sharing the ball with 2,200 yard rusher Brent
Thomas. Thomas has graduated, but Flowers is there to carry the load this
year, and he is poised for a monster season as the featured back in
Pebblebrook's Wing-T formation.
"Brent got more of the carries last year," said
Flowers. "I'll see the ball a lot more this year. I tied a state record
last year with touchdowns in a game with 8 against East Paulding."
Flowers spent most of the summer on the west coast with his
father, and that's where he went to his football camps as well. "While I
was out there, I went to camps at Washington, Portland State, and Oregon. I have
offers so far from Virginia, Georgia, Florida, Auburn, and Portland State. My
favorite teams right now are probably Florida, Auburn, Virginia, and Colorado.
You could probably put Georgia in there too for a top 5." The
spotlight will be squarely on Flowers this year with the departure of Thomas,
and Flowers is eager for the opportunity to tote the rock 20+ times a game.
