Los Angeles, Ca.-- On opening day of the 2006 NFL season, it seems fitting that Randy Taylor has been named Scout.com's Director of NFL Experts as well as the West Coast Regional Manager for College Football Recruiting.

As Director of NFL Experts for Scout.com, Taylor will be at the forefront of Scout.com's coverage of rankings including draft, free agency, and fantasy. Taylor will also lead Scout.com's team of experts and their breaking news and analysis.

As West Coast Regional Manager of Scout.com's College recruiting, Taylor will lead the West Coast team including Chris Fetters, Brandon Huffman, and Jason Jewell in producing the Industry Leading Player Rankings and coverage of future collegians.

"I think this is one of Scout.com's most significant hires in its history," said Scott Kennedy, Director of Programming for Scout.com. "With his playing and coaching experience, Randy heightens the level of credibility through every aspect of our business. I'm excited to have him leading our efforts in our NFL Network that has really been growing rapidly."

"As a recruiting manager his knowledge of the players on the West Coast is such that the colleges across the country have been coming to him for evaluations," Kennedy added. "Fans, like to say 'trust the coaches', well fans, we're bringing you the guy that the coaches trust."

For Taylor's part, he is excited about helping to move Scout.com forward.

"I just think that Scout.com has always been progressive," said Taylor. "Scout.com is the wave of the future. I think I bring experience, contacts, and knowledge of what a player is supposed to look like. I think I know what the readers want to read."

While wearing two hats seems like a big job, taking the lead for two of Scout.com's most important roles is something that Taylor of Los Angeles, Ca. is perfect for. For the past five years, Taylor has been the leading talent evaluator in California while running Taylor's Scouting Services (TSS). Many of the Top Division One colleges across the country have come to trust Taylor as "another set of eyes" to maximize their critical recruiting time and budgets.

A former All-Big Ten center at Illinois, Taylor returned to his alma mater as a graduate assistant offensive line coach for the ’79 college season. He then moved into administration as the Assistant Director of Operations at his alma mater in charge of fund raising, marketing and public relations. In 1980, Taylor went on to become an Assistant to the Athletics Director for Football at Illinois.

Taylor then moved on to UNLV as an Assistant to the Athletics Director for Football from 1985 to 1987. His duties centered on directing the administration of the Las Vegas football program, including media and community relations, fund raising, recruiting, NCAA compliance, athlete advising and camp production. Randy was named Assistant Athletics Director at San Jose State in 1988, where he oversaw the areas of marketing, promotions, media and community relations, corporate sponsorships, advertising, and event and camp production.

Taylor joined UCLA in 1996 to oversee all facets of the Bruin football program, including the coordination of recruiting. In 2002, Taylor was named by ESPN as the #1 Director of Football Operations for recruiting success. While at UCLA, Taylor was also the primary Liaison to the NFL.

Having been in the football business for close to 30 years, Taylor brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and unquestioned credentials and credibility to his new roles with Scout.com.
