Over the summer Round Rock, Texas tight end Alex Russian had an impressive camp and the offers started coming in right and left before he eventually chose LSU. Is his commitment solid and what did he think of his first gameday experience in Baton Rouge?
"I went to their first game against Louisiana-Lafayette," Russian said. "It was probably the best game I've ever been to. I got a chance to talk to Les Miles, coach Porter and coach Henson. I got to walk on the field before the game, it was just amazing."
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Russian is ranked as a three star tight end prospect by Scout.com.
"I have had a few schools that are calling me hoping I will change my mind," Russian said. "Schools can call if they want, but I just tell them that I am solid and that I am not going to change my mind."
Round Rock opened the season with a 35-20 win over Austin Bowie in which Russian caught one pass for an eight yard touchdown.
"I am hoping to get back to at least one more LSU game this year," Russian said. "I am going to try to get to the Alabama game and I want to take an official visit during the season."
Even though Russian won't be in attendance, don't think he is going to miss watching this weeks showdown with Auburn.
"I will definitely be glued to the TV at 2:30 on Saturday," Russian said. "I hope that it is another 45-3 type score like it was against Louisiana-Lafayette. I will be cheering hard."
