Martin Still Searching

Scout.com was in Cincinnati to cover the Kirk Herbstreit Ohio versus USA Challenge, and while in town we took the opportunity to scout one of the Nation’s premier defensive ends, Ben Martin, who also caught us up with his recruitment in a video interview.

Scout.com five-star prospect Ben Martin, a 6-foot-5, 230-pound defensive end from La Salle High in Cincinnati, Ohio made the move to middle linebacker this season to help his team’s defensive production.

Martin has long been considered a lean to Ohio State or Notre Dame, but he contends there is still another team in the picture for his services.

Martin compiled 28 solo tackles, 42 assists, 10 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, batted down three passes and caused four fumbles from his defensive end position as a junior in 2005.

Martin carries a 3.4 GPA and reports a 320 bench press and 450 squat. He is ranked as the No. 8 defensive end in the country by Scout.com.
