One of the top juniors in the “Empire State” for the 2008 recruiting class is going to be St. Anthony quarterback James Brady. Brady is already hearing from a solid amount of BCS level programs.

James Brady a 6-foot-0, 200-pound quarterback from St. Anthony’s High in Melville, N.Y. emerged on to the scene after having some dominating performances at some camps and combines this summer.

In addition to testing well at the Rutgers Scout.com combine that was held in late April he also brought home MVP awards from the National Underclassman Combine and the Chuck Mound Football Challenge.

Brady also had strong showings during sessions at Syracuse and Missouri. At this time those are also the two schools showing him the most recruiting interest.

“I went to Syracuse and had a good performance at their camp,” Brady said. “They are probably sending me the most mail at this point.”

“I grew up somewhat watching the Syracuse program. I looked at the facilities while I was at camp and the coaching staff is really good.”

“I also performed well at Missouri’s camp. After each session they would call the top performers aside and talk to them. Two out of the four sessions I was called aside.”

In addition to Missouri and Syracuse, Brady is hearing from a number of other top programs.

“I am getting mail from Purdue, Tennessee, Florida State, Boston College, Connecticut, and Virginia,” Brady informed. “I am just trying to get my name out there to as many schools as possible.”

“My biggest strengths are my footwork and my arm strength. I really believe that my footwork sets me apart. Outside of the pocket I am more of a running back than a quarterback.”

“I would compare my game to Chase Daniel‘s. I am about the same size as him, and we are close to the same on the field. I watched some of his junior highlights and he is very similar. I just try to mimic my game after him.”

Missouri definitely has themselves in a good position with Brady, but at this point he is very open to all of the programs that are recruiting him.

“Missouri is high up there for me,” Brady began. “They are showing me the most interest so far and I like the coaching staff a lot.”

So far through four games Brady has thrown for 657 yards and five touchdowns and added an additional 120 yards and two scores on the ground.
