RESERVE, LA. – Stefoin Francois of Reserve has been named a 2007 U.S. Army All-American. This is the third U.S. Army All-American to be selected from the state of Louisiana. Stefoin Francois, Luther Davis and Ahmad Paige will join a group of extraordinary student-athletes selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
This classic East vs. West match-up will be televised live on NBC at 12:00 Noon (CST) and will feature the nation’s top 80 high school football athletes. Since its inception, the U.S. Army All-American Bowl has been a key launching pad for America’s future college and NFL stars. Francois joins the likes of Reggie Bush, Vince Young, Brady Quinn, and Adrian Peterson who all made their national debuts as U.S. Army All-Americans.
is one of the top safety prospects in the country,” said Garrett Shea, Director of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. “He plays the position with great tenacity, constantly making huge hits and big plays. In addition, he has the speed and agility to make plays from sideline to sideline, and has the hands and leaping ability to take the ball away. Stefoin Francois is a tremendous all-around athlete and the Bowl is proud to have him join the U.S. Army All-American class of 2007.”
Francois is the number four safety prospect in the country according to Scout.com, rated as one of the nation's top 100 prospects.
"Francois’ has an extraordinary high work ethic," said Southwest recruiting analyst Jeremy Patterson. "He is fast, aggressive and has brilliant cover skills. He's a very tenacious player who also supplies reliable, sometimes vicious run support."
“The first thing that jumps out at you is that he will be a four-year starter on a Class 5A team,” said East St. John head coach Larry Dauterieve. “The kid has been in the line of fire. He has got great range and he will knock the snot out of you. When you see him on film he is always around the ball. And did I mention that he will knock your head off.”
Francois holds offers from colleges across the country and plans to take his viists after the season.
