SEC Schools After FSU Commitment

Kendall Smith is one of the top linebacker prospects in the state of Florida this year and the South Sumter standout talked about the latest.

"We have a big game at Jacksonville Bolles (tonight)," Kendall Smith said. "We knocked them out of the playoffs last year so we know they're going to give us all they have."

Smith, 6-feet and 210 pounds, is having an excellent senior season.

"At the end of the regular season, I had 102 tackles, 16 for loss, and two interceptions. I had 15 in our last game. I've been playing pretty good this year."

The talented linebacker prospect made an early commitment to Florida State but that hasn't stopped others from recruiting him.

"I'm still committed to Florida State but I might take some other visits," he said. "I just wanna keep my options open. It depends on who wants me to visit."

In addition to the Noles, three other programs have been calling Smith on a regular basis.

"I get calls a lot from Ole Miss, Florida, and Tennessee," he said. "They're just keeping in touch, seeing what's going on."

Smith, who has attended the FSU/BC and Florida/South Carolina games in recent weeks, said he remains committed to the Noles.

"They're kinda having a down year," he said. "They're still playing good defense and they'll bounce back strong. I'm not too worried about it." Recommended Stories
