Three-star defensive end Sam-Earl Fehoko (6-1, 215, 4.6), from Honolulu Farrington (Hawaii), finished his senior season (6-2) with 56 tackles, 22 sacks and four fumbles caused.
Fehoko, ranked as the No. 32 ranked defensive end by Scout.com, favors San Diego State slightly over Hawaii, Utah, UNLV, Arizona and Oklahoma. He says all six have offered, as well as New Mexico State, Weber State, TCU and Houston.
His brother, Whitley Fehoko, is an offensive guard for San Diego State. "They are rebuilding and had a tough season," Fehoko said. "They are still really young and it will take some time for them to get competitive."
Fehoko says he will also be visiting Hawaii and Utah in December, but hasn't set up the exact dates yet. He was supposed to visit Arizona next weekend, but says he will have to reschedule that visit.
"I'd also like to still visit Oklahoma," Fehoko said. "I'm still in contact with them. I just sent them an email this weekend, but I haven't talked with them in about two weeks.
"Hawaii is also recruiting me a lot. Their program is top-notch and they are doing really well this season," Fehoko said. "The coaches are doing really well and I like that they are only about 15 minutes away. I'd rather stay on the West Coast. Distance will be a small factor."
Fehoko admits he is trying to remain very open. "I really don't think anyone has that much of a lead. All the schools are still in it," Fehoko said. "I want a program that helps the players develop and improve and I want to get better every year and play for good coaches."
He reports a 3.6 core GPA and a 1360 SAT.
