Four-star offensive lineman Matt Romine (6-6, 270, 5.2), from Tulsa Union (Okla.), says it's a three-way tie between Oklahoma (childhood favorite), Notre Dame and Michigan over Florida and Miami. All have offered.
"When the time is right I'll know it," Romine said. "I'm not in a hurry to make a decision. I know everyone is rushing to make their decision before Christmas--I won't do that. A player could make a mistake by rushing the process just to be over and done with it.
"All the coaches say the same thing. When we visit the schools, it's up to us to pay attention to the school's surroundings. I've gone to three official visits and I like all three schools (Michigan, Notre Dame and most recently Oklahoma).
"Nothing beats Michigan's stadium and fan support. That's what stands out about the Wolverines. I have a chance to play early with the Irish. At Oklahoma's visit I went to the pre-game meals and meetings. I got a deep inside look at everything, not just the typical tour or events we get invited to attend," said Scout.com's No. 14 offensive guard.
"I'm taking an official visit to Miami on December 15 even though they don't have a coach. I think it would be different to live in a city like Miami. There's no other city like it. Florida has been talking to me about an official visit, but nothing has been set up yet. I'm not sure if I'll even go to Florida's official visit. Miami is the one I'm interested in seeing.
"Everyone thinks I'll go to Oklahoma because I live in Tulsa and it's the school I follow. But all three schools I have visited have great things about them. I won't be rushed into making a decision," he said. "The one thing I'm looking for is which school and city will be most comfortable. What if I get hurt during a game--I would still have to finish school," Romine said.
Romine reports a 3.4 core GPA and 21 ACT.
