Adrien Robinson has good visit to Ole Miss
Posted Dec 3, 2006
Adrian Robinson (WR, Indianoplis, IN) - Adrien Robinson did not commit to the Rebels during his official visit this weekend, but everything he saw at Ole Miss pleased him.
Adrien Robinson did not know what to expect when he and his parents (Ambret and Leroy) visited Oxford, but all of them left with a good impression of Ole Miss.
"The visit went real good. I liked Ole Miss a lot. My parents loved it," said Adrien, a 6-5, 225-pounder from Warren Central HS. "I liked the small college town, the people we real nice, the facilities are excellent, I think I have a chance to play early and the chance to play in the SEC is pretty special."
Robinson was hosted by frosh DE
on his visit.
"We clicked. We had a good time and I liked how all the players were on the same page trying to build a great program," said Adrien, who caught 28 passes for 432 yards and 3 touchdowns last season for Warren Central, 15-0 and winners of their fourth-straight AAAAA state title.
Adrien, who is also a basketball player, expanded on his Ole Miss "likes" and "dislikes."
"There are really no problems. The distance is a factor for my Dad, but he loved it there and said he'd figure all that out if I chose Ole Miss. I'm also used to living in a big city, but the change might do me good if Ole Miss is who I decide on," he added. "The facilities really turned my head. To have the meeting rooms right near the indoor field and the practice field and the stadium less than 50 yards away is really cool. You can do everything under one roof and I would think that's pretty unique.
"I talked a long time with (WR) Coach (Matt) Lubick and he's smart and knows his stuff. We talked about the ways he could use me and it was all pretty good. And how can you not be impressed with Coach O. Man, he's fired up! I'm looking for how a school fits my needs, the offense they run and how I can fit in to play early. Ole Miss met all those things for me."
Robinson has not set up his visits to Arkansas and Louisville yet. He will have to squeeze them in to a hectic hoops schedule.
"I don't know when I will visit the other two, but I'm trying to keep my mind open about a decision right now. This is my future and I want to consider all my options carefully," he closed.
Rebel TE Coach Hugh Freeze is recruiting Adrien.
