Erique Robertson gained an offer this week from the Iowa Hawkeyes, and has scheduled a quick visit…
Erique Robertson Enjoys Iowa Official
Erique Robertson, a 5-foot-11, 210-pound athlete from Maple Heights High in Ohio has been a prospect that has not been talked about much on the message boards or in the national media, butt he definitely has a lot of programs throughout the Midwest hot on his trail. This weekend he traveled to Iowa for his first official visit to see the campus of the Iowa Hawkeyes. "It was real nice except for the weather," Robertson said of the bad luck on his travel plans. "It was real good though. It gave me the opportunity to see what the school was all about." Earlier this summer Robertson rode along with the Ted Ginn Bus Tour and they made a stop by a session of Iowa's summer camp. Robertson impressed the coaches with his performance and they kept close tabs on him ever since. Robertson enjoyed working with the coaching staff at the camp, but that experience was topped by this weekends visit. "I enjoyed the opportunity to get to meet with the coaches," Robertson informed. "I had been to Iowa before, but this was a lot more in depth. It also gave my parents an opportunity to get to know the coaches. Iowa has a great coaching staff." Even though he had a great time on the visit, he did not issue a verbal commitment. He will take a scheduled official visit to Illinois next weekend and then try to pick between his two favorites. "I am only looking at Illinois and Iowa," he began. "I love Big Ten football. I grew up in Ohio so I have always rooted for the Big Ten. I have always wanted to play Big Ten football." As a senior, Robertson reports he racked up over 120 tackles, to go with 14 tackles for loss, four sacks, and an interception earning All-Conference honors.
