He was all over the field and stood out like a sore thumb.
He parlayed this performance into a scholarship offer from the Auburn Tigers and committed shortly thereafter.
But recently, he decided to give some more schools a look, including Ole Miss, where he will take an official visit to this weekend.
"They have been showing me a lot of interest. They have come by my house weekly since the coaches could start seeing us. What really got my attention from them is having Patrick Willis. He is a finalist for the Butkus award. That really caught my eye. He will be a first round pick. Then they picked up another LB out of juco (Rory Johnson) and he had a big time year for them in his first season. He is going pro now too. Having the chance for early playing time has also caught my eye, something that I want to look into," added Marshall Williams.

"I just want to see how well I fit in with their players and coaches, basically. I know they have a great academic program, but I want to see what kind of pre law program they have. I am going to be a lawyer. I am really looking forward to seeing it all, athletic dorm, weight room, practice fields, just all of it. I am bringing my whole family with me so they can get a feel for it too."
Who else will Scottie visit?
"I am going to Auburn and California for sure, and Alabama I am still debating if I am going on that trip or not. They do not have a staff in place yet, and it is getting pretty late. I am not sure about that one yet."
Does Marshall hold scholarship offers from these four schools?
"I do from Auburn, California, and Ole Miss. I am not sure about Alabama because I do not know if their new staff is going to honor it or not. North Carolina and Vandy have offered me too. And Memphis too."
Where does Auburn now stand with Williams?
"I am still solid. I am just looking around at some other schools to make sure I am making the right decision. They have a real good pre law program and a solid LB core. I like Auburn's coaching staff. I think that it is the place for me to be, but again, I need to see some other places first to know that for sure."
When Marshall makes a final decision; what will be the factors?
"I want to look at the student housing, weight room, locker room, things like that. I do not have to start my freshman year. In fact, I would not mind redshirting if needed. But after that, I am looking to come in and make an impact for that program, who ever it is going to be."
Scottie finished the season with 89 tackles, 4 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles for 8-2 Southwest Dekalb.
"Last year, it was more on natural ability. But this year, I am more of a student of the game. I have picked up a lot of things to help me have my best year yet."
