Texas wide receiver Hubert Anyiam (6-0, 175, 4.4) favors Oklahoma slightly over Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Arizona. All of his favorites have offered. He says the Sooners are recruiting him the hardest, although they've only given him a verbal offer. "I'm still waiting to get the letter," Anyiam said.
"Oklahoma calls me a lot and they've been to my house," said the Scout.com three-star prospect. "Coach Brent Venables (assistant head coach) was over last Saturday (December 2). He talked about their offense and how they get the ball to their receivers a lot. They have a really good offense and they really bounced back this year after losing a bunch of guys. They had some bad luck and had a lot of injuries, but they stuck together and showed a lot of heart."
He already took an official visit to Nebraska (October 21) and Kansas State (November 22) and will be visiting Arizona this weekend (December 9). "Arizona is a young team and I like their coaches," Anyiam said. "They run a good offense and I think they're a good up-and-coming team."
Anyiam also had an official visit from Nebraska's offensive coordinator Jay Norvell last Thursday (November 30). "Nebraska made the Big 12 Championship and showed that they are for real," Anyiam said. "They keep improving and I think they'll be even better next year. Nobody expected them to do so well, but they played hard and proved a lot of people wrong."
Anyiam was originally supposed to visit Iowa State this weekend, but says he's no longer considering the Cyclones. "They weren't recruiting me as hard as the others and I lost interest," Anyiam said. "Notre Dame was another school I was looking at. They never offered me so they aren't in my top five anymore."
He reports a 2.5 core GPA and a 1000 SAT (new version). Anyiam will be retaking the SAT on January 27.
