Posted Dec 10, 2006
Chris Walker (LB, Memphis, TN) - Scout.com's #16 killed the suspense today when he committed to his home state university.
"I am going to be a Tennessee Vol," added a proud
And why Tennessee?
"The main thing with me is that the whole time I wanted to go where I felt the most comfortable. I have really gotten to know the players and coaches at Tennessee because I have been up there a lot lately. I heard some bad things about the Tennessee coaches, but when I got to really know the Tennessee players and they told me the things I was hearing were not true, it just made my decision easy. Walker's mother, Gloria, was even more proud of her son.
"He feels real good about it," added Gloria Walker. "If he is happy, I am happy. He feels like that is where he wanted to be, and he grew weary of the recruiting process, and that is where he will be next year, actually this summer."
Will Chris take the remaining official visits that he scheduled?
"No, I am done with the recruiting process. I have canceled them."
Walker projects as a full qualifier with a 3.4 GPA / 21 ACT.
