Scout.com All-ACC Team

It was a wild year in the ACC as Wake Forest took the Championship. The ACC Championship participants were well represented in the Scout.com All-ACC Selections including the offensive player of the year.

Wake Forest and Georgia Tech played for the ACC Championship this year in a topsy-turvy conference race. What might not be as unexpected is the Scout.com Offensive Player of the Year.

Calvin Johnson of Georgia Tech finished the year with 67 catches, 1,016 yards and 13 touchdowns. The next closest players on the among the Top 10 receiving leaders in the ACC had five touchdowns (Boston College's Kevin Challenger and Tony Gonzalez). Johnson's 1,016 yards were 35% higher than the next closest receiver in the ACC, and anyone that knows ACC football, knows he was even better than his number might indicate.

Gaines Adams of Clemson is the Scout.com ACC Defensive Player of the Year. Adams finished the 2006 regular season leading the conference in sacks with 10.5. He helped his Clemson team finished third in the ACC in Total Defense.
