Four-star safety/cornerback James Thomas (6-0, 182, 4.55) from La Marque (Texas) still denies a favorite, but likes Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Missouri, Texas Tech and Michigan. All of his favorites have offered, except Michigan.
"We're still in the playoffs, so I haven't really been too focused on recruiting," Thomas said. "I want to help my team win the championship. As soon as the season is over I'll start to set up the rest of my visits."
Thomas, who is ranked as No. 22 safety by Scout.com, already visited Kansas State on November 11. "It was a great visit," Thomas said. "That was the weekend they beat Texas and it was crazy there. Everyone was really loud and happy. I loved all the energy and excitement there."
He says that Oklahoma State is recruiting him the hardest. "They call me every day and they've been by my house last week," Thomas said. "They told me that they want me to come in and play right away. They said that if I committed there, I'd already be number two on their depth chart.
"Arkansas had a really good year. I love how they all seem to be on the same page and they work really well together," Thomas said. "They remind me of my team."
Despite not having an offer from the Wolverines, Thomas says that Michigan is still recruiting him. "We've talked about me visiting them. I need to see their depth chart and find out how quickly I'd have a chance to play."
Thomas says that the three most important factors in his decision are, "team unity, the coaching staff and academics."
He reports a 3.2 core GPA and a 23 ACT.
