The West returned to the field for the afternoon practice on Monday and a few more players…
Ron Brooks: Stands Out in Practice
Ron Brooks, a 6-foot-0, 170-pound wide receiver MacArthur High in Irving, Texas earned his spot in the Army All-American by impressing people on the field against a multitude of different players with different skill levels, but today he showed his potential by impressing against some of the best cornerbacks. The first day of Army All-American practice has come and gone. Cornerbacks Donovan Warren and Curtis Brown have shown superior shutdown skills, but Ron Brooks busted out a little in the afternoon session of practice and made some nice plays. He ran some very smooth routes, and throughout the day he may have shown the best pair of hands on the squad. There are some other great receivers on the West team with a little more fanfare, but Brooks has emerged as possible candidate to earn a starting position. Brooks has narrowed his collegiate choices to Arkansas, Texas Tech, Florida and LSU.
