"I
am still leaving my options open," commented Terry Mixon. "I am still
looking around. I am going to do some more research and take some visits and see
what else is out there."
Any particular schools in mind?
"I
am going to visit Washington State (1/12) and Arizona (1/19). I was suppose to
visit Ole Miss this weekend but they quit calling me after I committed to California.
I guess you can say they backed off. Tennessee quit calling me too. Arizona State
still calls, but I do not think I am going to school there. I hope I get some
more looks. I am going to send out some more highlight tapes and hopefully some
schools will start back calling."
Terry was hoping to graduate in
December but it will be May before he gets out."I was a little short,
but I will be out in May for sure."
Terry's brother played for California
this past season and is appealing to the NCAA for a 6th year of eligibility.
"He
should hear something back in February, but he is not banking on gaining an extra
year. That is one of the reasons I want to do some more research on the schools
I am looking at."
One thing California does provide is an outstanding
education and that factor has not gone unnoticed by Terry.
"That played
a big role in my commitment. You have to look out for yourself after football
is over. Their academics are nice and there is no guarantee that you will make
money in this game."
Terry claims 90 solo tackles, 3 for losses, 3
fumble recoveries, 2 sacks, and 6 batted down balls during his sophomore campaign.
