Martez Wilson and Ben Martin continued to excel. They seem to get better with each practice session. During the scrimmage the two took turns attacking the East quarterbacks. Chris Little and Anthony Davis both had trouble with the speed rushers. Wilson also blocked three kicks in the scrimmage.
Tyrod Taylor stepped up his game in a big way. Taylor looks to have the strongest arm among the East quarterbacks. Taylor showed outstanding escapability and vision as well eluding the pass rush. Taylor could be a big key to the game and could have a major factor in the outcome.
Ryan Pugh and Chris Jacobson continued to be dominant run blockers. The two stalwarts opened up the whole that sprung Chris Rainey for the scrimmages first score.
Marvin Austin continued to be a force up the middle and has been running down plays backside.
Julio Moraga continued to struggle with his punting duties. The East team once again had tryouts for the punting chores. Aaron Hernandez looked the best out of the handful of players that tried out for the spot. At the end of practice John Brantley tried to show his skill as a punter and he looked very impressive and could end up as the starter.
Greg Little continues to impress. Little is as focused as he has ever been and it shows. Deonte Thompson scored the scrimmages second touchdown on a beautiful catch and run. Arrelious Benn continued to be consistent.
Lorenzo Edwards and J’Courtney Williams were making tackles from sideline-to-sideline. Both were safeties for their high school teams, but neither has had trouble making the transition.
