Three-star defensive back James Thomas (6-0, 182, 4.55) still denies a leader, but is finally beginning to narrow down his choices.
"Our season went really long, so I haven't been too involved with recruiting," said the Texan from La Marque High School. "I haven't been thinking about it at all recently."
Despite not focusing on recruiting, Thomas does have official visits scheduled to Oklahoma State (Jan.12) and Arkansas (Jan.19), and he has already visited Kansas State (Nov. 12). All have offered.
He says that Arkansas seems to be recruiting him the hardest. "They are after me hard," Thomas said. "They really want me and I like that. They have good coaches and the team plays really hard. They really improved this year too. They came back from a 4-7 record last year and they are still improving and moving up.
"Both Arkansas and Oklahoma State had really great and surprising seasons this year," Thomas said. "I expect big things from them in the future."
Thomas says he's also considering visiting Missouri this month (January) as well. "I'm still really open, but I know I want a team with great chemistry and a will to win," Thomas said. "The coaches are going to be an important part too. I want to play for coaches that have a good relationship with their players."
He reports a 3.2 core GPA and a 23 ACT.
