Bob Lichtenfels,

San Antonio, Texas— Texas, Ohio State, Michigan State all were players for one of Michigan’s finest players. There were a lot of people who all tried to figure out where this talented athlete would land and ultimately, today at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Detroit (Mich.) Cass Tech defensive tackle Joseph Barksdale, 6-foot-5, 310 pounds, announced his college intentions today in San Antonio, Texas and he announced that he would attend LSU and play for head coach Les Miles.

Barksdale, who began his All-American Odyssey, last January at the U.S. Army National Combine ended it in the same place it started. Barksdale ultimately chose the Tigers over the Ohio State Buckeyes and about 50 other schools.

Barksdale has proven his All-American worth while in San Antonio. He has been a force all week in practice. Barksdale joins Drake Nevis (Marret, La.) and Kentravis Aubrey (Bastrop, La.) as defensive tackles who have pledged to LSU.
