Decison For Edwards Academic - Southeast
Posted Jan 6, 2007 four-star linebacker Lorenzo Edwards from Orlando-Edgewater announced his verbal commitment Saturday in San Antonio, Texas during the U.S. Army All-American game.

“I kind of made a promise to my mom that I would go to school for four years and get my degree before I enter the draft,” said Lorenzo Edwards before he picked his school. “Florida is just its own place and the atmosphere is like no other. I really like their academics and they have a terrific architecture program.

“That’s the most important part to me. I want to study architecture. It’s really a day to day thing. I am also looking at the coaches, depth chart and where I best fit in. All the schools sell you that they are the best one for you. They are all great and I just have to figure out which one is best for me.”

The number one weakside linebacker in the country announced his verbal commitment to the 2006 SEC champion Florida Gators. Edwards took official visits to Florida, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Michigan and Notre Dame.
