The Tennessee Volunteers pulled a mild upset today by keeping the top player in Tennessee at home. Huntingdon, Tennessee linebacker Chris Donald announced his intentions to spend the next four years in Knoxville.

Chris Donald is ranked as the top player in the Volunteer State and the nation’s top strongside linebacker by Scout.com. Many thought Donald would leave the state to play for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

The commitment is huge as it gives the Volunteers their second commitment from a player who is the top ranked player in the nation at their position. The other is Eric Berry of Creekside High in Fairburn, Georgia.
