Keese One to Watch
Mike Keese, a 6-foot-0, 170-pound quarterback from South Senior High in Olathe, Ks. had a solid day at the combine. "It was a really good experience," Keese said. "It was the first combine that I had ever been to. I felt like I threw pretty well. I think that the things that stood out for me was my accuracy and my footwork." Keese believes that a quarterback not only needs to possess a good arm, but he must also bring some other intangibles to the table. He grew up admiring a legend that had a little bit of it all. "I think that leadership and accuracy are my two biggest strengths," Keese informed. "I used to like to watch Dan Marino when I was growing up. I know that he does not play anymore, but that is who I was a fan of growing up. He played for my favorite team the Dolphins." "I grew up in Florida," Keese informed to explain how a Kansas resident became a fan of the Miami Dolphins. Keese is much more interested in playing his college ball somewhere in the Midwest. "I guess the two schools that I like the most are Kansas and Kansas State," Keese began. "I guess I like them the most because of how close they are to home." As a junior, Keese threw for 1,650 yards and 12 touchdowns to earn All-City and Honorable Mention All-Conference honors.
